As the weather takes a turn and Autumn is upon us, here are some ideas for those Autumnal nuptials.

A huge trend for autumnal weddings this year is the use of velvet. With its luxurious feel and beautiful dual-tone hues, it is no surprise that it is making an appearance in abundance. It can be used in subtle ways such as tying the bridal bouquet or wrapped around the napkins on place settings, or as bold as using it for bridesmaids’ dresses. A divine luxury for your table-scape is creating a table runner in the texturized Fabric.

Don’t be afraid to step outside the bridal box. Tradition is wonderful, but it is not for everyone. We are seeing more and more brides choosing to throw the book at tradition and opting for a more innovative and inspirational style.   Autumnal weddings seem to lend themselves well to floral and bolder prints being explored. Bring some of your personality and style to your bridal attire.

Why not make your wedding décor undeniably of your chosen season. Pumpkins are a wonderful choice for this as they are so beautifully versatile and colourful. Incorporating seasonal produce into your menu and décor throughout the day allows your guests to go through a multi-sensory seasonal journey with you. The joy of choosing an autumnal wedding is that it is slightly alternative to a summer wedding and allows the choice of such products to be more varied, poignant and festive.

Although an Autumn wedding can still bring plenty of warmth and sunshine, the evenings are definitely closing in, so no better excuse than to go totally over the top with candles. In our eyes you can never have too many candles. They set the stage for a romantic and moody affair and (if the right candles are chosen) can burn long into the night creating intimacy and atmosphere.

Escort cards are an increasingly more popular way to direct your guests to their tables, opening the door to more individual designs, talking points and Instagram-able photos. Why not opt for a ‘cocktail escort card’, as nothing sets the party off quite like it- and will get your guests well oiled for the fun to come. Your choice of drink could be symbolic to your heritage, the location of your wedding or simply your favourite drink. Think mini margaritas, petite Aperol’s, champagne or even a personalised cocktail created by you.

All too often we focus on the floral displays at eye level yet some of the most breath-taking flower installations are above head height. They create the ultimate luxury scenes and make for stunning photographs. There is also a practical element, which is that often brides opt for centre pieces with height as it does wonders for the overall look of the room. However, they can become troublesome when guest are trying to converse across the table. Therefore, consider an aerial floral installation above the tables and it will tick all the design and wow factor boxes whilst remaining social. Perhaps go for ‘fall foliage’ to embrace your chosen season.

The single most beautiful idea for an autumn wedding in our eyes. is the use of dried autumnal leaves as confetti. They are Eco-friendly, they don’t cost a penny and the pictures are exquisite

Frame your wedding ceremony. It is arguable the most important part of your day, so why not frame the moment you say “I do “with a stunning autumnal floral hoop or arch. Imagine those pictures!

We love a jaw dropping aisle making a dramatic entrance for firstly your guests and then the bride.Trust your florist to create a showstopping arrangement with fall foliage to wow your guests that is entirely bespoke to you and compliments your autumnal design.

Take an ‘autumnal leaf’ out of the Royal’s book and get your photographer to take a visionary portrait in the grand rooms of your chosen venue. This portrait could form a stunning piece of artwork for your house and tells the story of your chosen bridal couture and venue architecture. Painterly photography Is a huge trend for this Autumn as they turn your wedding photographs into works of art.
