Planning a Summer Wedding!

Despite the rain, the summer wedding season is in full swing! So here is a look at some summer wedding inspiration for those warm weather nuptials.

Greet your guests with a refreshing cocktail. Champagne with popsicles or Frosé. Not only do they keep your guests refreshed in the sunshine, but they can look beautiful too and are so Instagrammable.
Talking of social media gems, why not create a coconut water station. Thirst quenching for your guests and a wonderful feature in your design too.

With some positive thinking we must believe our chosen summer date will be a beautiful hot and sunny day. If you have such luck, there is every chance your guests will be enjoying their canapes and reception drinks in a lovely open space, so think ahead and provide your guests with some summer saviours such as fans and umbrellas and perhaps even a box of sunglasses and flip flops for later.

There is nothing quite like an ice cream on a hot day. There are so many ways to incorporate it into your day. You could ask your caterers to serve mini cones canape style, or you could serve it in little personalised pots with your wedding monogram. Or you could have a beautiful old fashioned cart turn up in the grounds, once again serving a dual purpose of refreshing your guests and creating a perfect photo opportunity.

All this talk of basking in the sunshine, but it is also important to set-up a shaded spot for your guests to lounge and sip on those aforementioned cocktails.
Furthermore, drinks receptions can seem long for guests whilst you are off on cloud 9 having your photos taken, so its always a good idea to provide entertainment during that time. Creating a photo booth backdrop to frame their pictures is a lovely idea and can really show off your chosen venue too. These frames can be a wonderful chance to let your creativity run wild. Why not go for an ornate door frame with cascading flowers.

All too often we focus on the floral displays at eye level yet some of the most breath-taking flower installations hand above head height. They create the ultimate luxury scenes and make for stunning photographs. There is also a practical element, which is that often brides opt for centre pieces with height as it does wonders for the overall look of the room. However, they can become troublesome when guest are trying to converse across the table. Therefore, consider an aerial floral installation above the tables and it will tick all the design and wow factor boxes whilst remaining social.

Nothing quite says summer alfresco dining without the enchantment of fairy lights. When the day comes to a close and the evening is upon you, why not create the ultimate romantic setting with an abundance of fairy lights.

With the outdoors being the setting for your day, take the opportunity to get creative with some wedding signage. Welcome and direct your guests with personalised signs and get really inventive with an escort card display. These are so functional for the flow of the day but are also a superb talking point for your guests.

If it is good enough for Pippa Middleton, then it Is good enough for you to opt for a glass marquee. They look simply sensational in the summer with seasonal blooms and the use of chandeliers and jaw dropping table-scapes.

Delight in the good weather by saying your vows beneath a floral arch, woodland glade or charming gazebo. Many venues will facilitate a decision being made for an indoors or outdoors ceremony based upon the weather on the day, but some will insist this decision is made the day before or even earlier. Be sure to ask this question when viewing the venue as the weather is the one thing you can’t do anything about, and you don’t want this to be contributing to the stress factor. Ensure you like and can picture your wedding day both inside and outside at your chosen venue as mother nature will not always be on your side.

From summer wedding dresses, to flower crowns to humidity proof hair styling there is so much to think about. Perhaps consider it may be a beautiful sunny day, after all, that is what you are hoping for when choosing a summer date. So, you will want a suitable dress for such weather and hair styling that will beat even the most humid weather. Then why not channel your inner boho goodness and opt for a flower crown that ties in with your floral design.
